Photo-shoot for Free!

Now I could say, that despite this stressful Philippine travel, I did not regret coming home! There is no way I would regret this, I have accomplished important things for my family and spent time with them which is the most important part, plus, we got a complimentary photo-shoot from the best guys ever! An old friend, and previous Pastor named Benjie Lloyd Dela Cruz started photography as a hobby, together with his cousin Kuya Aying and they invited us to have a couple shoot for FREE! We were like, for real?!!! For real indeed, and there is going to be a take two before we go back to the United States next week! We are now thinking of renting an outfit for the next photo-shoot, white long gown and white suit for Honey as a matter of fact, crossing our fingers that we could actually find this in Davao City!

Pastor Lloyd or "Kayode" as we call him, named their rising business venture DC Fotografia. They cater different types of photo-shoots as per client requirement. Here is a snapshot of their photo-shoot package/s:

I will post more updates as I go on, including the photos taken by DC Fotografia... Right now its time for lunch!

Khloe and Lamar

Guest post from: Kent Lara

In case you haven't heard the Kardashians are taking over the world. I have recently started watching the Keeping Up With the Kardashians spin off Khloe and Lamar and I really am getting into it. It has all of the Kardashian family with only about half of the drama. You get to see more of Rob on this show than any of the others since he lives with Khloe and Lamar. You also get to know Lamar a little better when he is on that show and not training or away playing in a basketball game. Khloe and Lamar's relationship is an interesting one. They were only dating for about a month or so when they decided to get engaged. The whole Kardashian family was all up in arms when they made the announcement of the wedding because they didn't even hardly know Lamar at the time since he had only recently stepped into the picture. Check out GiveADish.com to find out if you can get Khloe and Lamar on your local stations to catch up on all the action.

LOTTO Numbers at Last!

This is another something new that I accomplished at the start of the year!!! At last last night we were able to decide on the numbers after we got the love thing fortune cookie...

My budget would be $2 a week, $8 a month... Oh my gosh it would be hard to spend all of the money if I won! We will just forget about this numbers and wait for luck to pass by us lovebirds who needs the money... haha, who knows?

He Gave Me Flower... No, A Rose!

Around 6:30 this evening I pulled up in front of the garage and called my mom, I had to share some interesting news that's why I stayed in the car because I could only be too loud inside the house. It wasn't until five minutes later that I noticed Honey's car pulled up beside me and I wondered why he was home? He works 3pm to 11pm so there must be something he needs to do. I didn't see that long stemmed rose coming, I swear! Wala ko gikilig Basiga!!! Haha!

I thought my husband should know me better by now, I am not the type of girl you would give flowers to. I grew up in a garden and maybe that is why I don't appreciate flowers as much because of too much familiarity. This is the third time I got flowers from this guy, once during my birthday and the other was during valentines day, all thru the help of LBC. He told me he has to give me a rose, at least a stem of rose, because it is our wedding anniversary already... I'm like, okay??? I should be appreciating this gesture huh? Instead of asking him to convert it to cash that I badly need?

We went to the chinese buffet last night by the way, Honey made me cry yesterday because he pissed me off and I had my period! I wasn't in the mood at all and wasn't talking to him until almost fortune cookie time... and this is what we got...

Well... We certainly hope so too! I have to cut off my horns, seriously...

2012: First Strike

I thought of joining Honey's surfing craze. I recently saw Attorney Sweet's surfing endeavor in Mati and I thought to myself, why not?

I was already searching for a wetsuit this morning and I was too eager to tell Honey last night to go Santa Cruz today to start surfing! First of all, I don't think I really meant that statement, water right now is freezing and I think I could die out there. Honey just showed me in random how a surfer is supposed to ride his board:

Honey is so good at this surfing stuff now I think, he could move his way to the waves better, I think he is getter better compared to my brother in law, but that is just me, in favor of my husband somehow haha!

I will post some updates about my upcoming surfing endeavor here soon... This will be one of my something new for this year. Goodluck!

*** We went out last night to meet the new year, we were originally planning to join Honey's cousins at the bar... Unfortunately while in the area, I just gave up because I didn't know that people here would wait in line so ID's could be checked before being allowed inside! I was like OMG this is just too much and I knew right then and there that I couldn't do it. So we ended up eating in that Korean place in El Camino again, and by the way, I will just refer to it as "Korean Restaurant" as I couldn't find an English name anywhere in that place... We went home right after and witnessed a little bit of fireworks from the hood. This is my New Year's Eve Update.. ***

Budget

Thanks for the guest post by Donn Schroeder

My husband and I are doing our best to watch our budget lately, as a lot of people are. And by “my husband and I,” I mean “I” am trying to watch my budget. My husband is far better at saving money than I am, as I tend to view money as fairly expendable. It’s something we’re working on slowly, so we’ve been trying to cut costs where we can. I stumbled across DirectStarTV the other day and noticed that we could be saving a lot of money on our TV costs. We’ve had cable since we got married, and I figured out that we could get a ton more channels, plus some pretty awesome movie channels, for less than we’d been spending every month. We made a quick call to make the switch, and it’s been one of the easiest ways we’ve found to save money. I may or may not be spending some of that extra money on shoes, but like I said, I’m working on it. Rome wasn’t built in a day, right? That’s what I tell my husband, at least.

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now!

Forgive me but I am just doing this for fun! This song has been our favorite in the karaoke, this could really be our theme song now. This video was taken at Rendel's aunt's house during her birthday before Christmas. Honey just loves karaoke, and I don't think he could deny that! It is cool that Honey and I could really team up when it comes to karaoke because I am always on the go too! Take me wherever I would sing no matter what!

Please don't take this video seriously, because I know it wouldn't go far!

Impromptu Korean Dinner

We had time to hang out with friends on a Saturday night about two weeks ago... We left their place at around 1 am and we decided we need more stuffers to survive the evening. We came late to the party and sadly there's not enough food anymore and both of us were looking for rice.

Honey brought me to this Korean place in El Camino Real or Saratoga, that was the place his friends brought him into the night before our wedding. The town just appeared to me like a Korean-infested area as I've seen mostly Korean establishments. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the restaurant, but I will not forget how delighted I was with their great food and service. I would need to write a follow up on this restaurant soon as I get the chance to go back.

I am lucky I had my camera so I had a chance to take some photos:

One thing that makes me fall in love with Korean cuisine is the well prepared side dishes. It is awesome how they compliment the meat and the rice. I have also this impression that their food is healthier because they use lesser oil, and they always have veggies.

We are planning to go to a Korean buffet next Monday for our 1st wedding anniversary. Originally the plan was to have a 5-course dinner in a French Restaurant, but we figured we would not enjoy dressing up for the occasion because we would stay wrapped-up anyway and couldn't show off because its winter. We are sure another occasion will call for another fine dining event and we will see that we won't miss it.

Artsy House... Someday

I love art. It has been my greatest fascination to dig in deeper into its profound mysteries. Recently I got a magazine of beautiful houses full of fine and elegant architecture. I couldn’t fail to notice that there’s more to thecomposition of those houses than just the accessories and furnitures that fills it, and I couldn’t help but to give most of the credit to the tiny details involved in piecing the whole building together. All are really products of excellent engineers and designers combined.

Did I tell you that I love colors? I mean, who doesn’t? Colors just bring more existence to life itself, and that’s the one thing that I wouldn’t want to overlook or overdo when I build my own house someday. One thing that could contribute to an essential accent in the house is the smart choice of tiles to use. Aside from the paint, tiles will elegantly put your architecture on top especially when they are picked meticulously! I just discovered a site that specializes in mosaic tiles and they have really wide variety of products to choose from! Come to think of it, mosaic is a really unique and elegant pattern that could make your space really alive. The site features a gallery of different mosaic tiles and it is hard not to fall in love with each and everyone of them!

I have been dreaming of designing my own kitchen and bathroom. For the kitchen I am envisioning the colors green, red, yellow, and cream. I can picture a very bright kicthen with a colorful accent, and a partition of a colorful glass mosaicthru somewhere around the house. The bathroom could be all black, but should be composed of a glass mosaic tile because I want it to look very high-end and I like the power of black! Actually a black and cream combination for a bathroom would do. Everything need not be exaggerated at this point I suppose but my choice of tiles will really contribute to the feel and impression of the entire house, definitely I will not miss a mosaic tile.

The family actually had a conversation about getting a house next year, we figured this is the best time to try to buy a house since interest rates are low. Based on our previous conversations, we could try to get a fixer-upper in a decent neighborhood and remodel it according to our taste. I already have a very colorful plan in mind! If I could, I would take over the remodelling process so nobody could get in my way of achieving an artsy but decent looking house!
